Recommendations to tourists

Enjoyment and recreation are all we want from a holiday. However, in order for your travel to be relaxing, it is important that you are safe. For this reason, being sufficiently informed and prepared for your journey is the most important thing to make sure your holiday has no surprises except pleasant ones.

We offer the following recommendations so that you can all be prepared for your trip to Montenegro:

On the road

  • Start your journey well-rested
  • If you are travelling by car, avoid traffic jams and be informed about the state of the roads before you set out
  • Adjust your speed according to the conditions on the road and obey the legal speed limits
  • Drive in appropriate clothing, do not use a mobile telephone while you are driving, and do not consume alcoholic or fizzy drinks
  • If you are travelling with young children, plan everything in detail and have the information to hand
  • Prepare enough food and water for any children travelling with you and use your vehicle’s air conditioning in moderation
  • If you have a chronic illness you should take particular care
  • Ask ahead of time about the quality and accessibility of local health services in the place where you will be spending your holiday

At the seaside

  • Moderate sunbathing is recommended in the mornings before 10 am and after 5 pm, with appropriate use of protection from the sun, especially for children
  • It is not recommended to sunbathe between 10 am and 5 pm
  • Do not go far from the seashore, or outside of the marked areas, and do not use inflatable devices where they are not permitted
  • Do not expose yourself to danger while swimming and diving
  • If you feel tiredness, exhaustion, headaches, nausea, or a high temperature while sunbathing, immediately notify a beach lifeguard and the nearest health institution

On trips into nature

  • Familiarise yourself in detail with the place you will be staying in nature and check the weather forecast in advance
  • Use the marked trails and roads until you reach your destination and wear appropriate clothing and footwear
  • Prepare sufficient quantities of water
  • It is essential that you take with you fully charged mobile telephones and torches with spare batteries for them
  • Take children on trips into nature only if you have planned the trips in detail
  • While you are in nature do not light a fire and do not discard cigarette butts or flammable objects
